Critical thinking is the art and science behind the provision of the best possible end-of-life care. Part of this process is continually asking “Is this really true?”. In end-of-life care, staff want to help people who are suffering and who frequently ask questions with no definitive answer. “Can my husband hear me?” “Why did my husband die after I left the room? I promised him I would be at his side.” In attempting to provide comfort, “hospice urban myths” have evolved over the years. These myths have been passed along so many times that they begin to feel as if they are actually true, when in fact, that is often not the case. This webinar will look at many of these myths and whether they are really true. It will explore better ways to support people when life events feel unfair or hopeless.

This webinar will examine the multifaceted responsibilities of the clinical manager and distinguish between the attributes of a proficient, versus an exceptional, clinical manager. In addition, it will explore strategies to support clinicians aspiring to transition into clinical management roles and how to effectively coach staff or apply disciplinary measures.

While it’s tempting to use AI to summarize patient conversations and enter them into your electronic health records system, you must weigh the benefits of reducing administrative burdens against the risk of violating patient privacy and triggering HIPAA fines and legal action. Hospice and home care companies face other risks as well, including discrimination claims resulting from the use of biased talent acquisition AI tools. This program will take a comprehensive look at the AI/ChatGPT risks, rules, and regulations facing healthcare companies. You’ll learn to use best practices-based AI policy, training, and tech tools to manage ChatGPT use and stave off discrimination claims, malicious intruder attacks, and lost revenues. You’ll leave with tips, tools, and other valuable resources to help minimize AI/ChatGPT risks, manage content and use, and maximize compliance with HIPAA and the courts.
