Are you biased?  If so, how do you deal with it?  If not… are you sure?

Implicit bias is a common subconscious trait that manifests in feelings about certain populations, appearances, or mannerisms.  Although having implicit bias doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, it can interfere in your job and other situations.  The first step to addressing bias is honest self-assessment.  Once you’ve recognized it, the best approach is to constantly assess your feelings and how they impact your actions and approach.

Several studies have determined implicit bias exists in healthcare and affects the quality and equity of care.  This webinar will speak to assumptions that often trigger these feelings.  You’ll learn ways to address such issues head-on with your staff.  Open conversation removes the taboo and paves the way for better patient care and outcomes.  Since many people don’t realize they have biases, starting the dialogue and developing awareness are the first steps forward!
