Everyone loves to use the word “interdisciplinary” in marketing, yet do they ensure interdisciplinary care is actually being provided?
Most people do not come to hospice with the skills necessary to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Everyone understands the notion of “teamwork,” yet interdisciplinary concepts are much more complex – and for good reason. Join this timely webinar to delve deeper.
AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
- Examine terminology that is often misused
- Identify common challenges that interfere with providing true interdisciplinary care
- See how the regulations encourage interdisciplinary team functioning, yet also create significant obstacles
- Explore how better team meetings can improve interdisciplinary functioning
- List three ways to ensure “better meetings” are not equivalent to “longer meetings”
- Create a three-phase plan to develop high-functioning interdisciplinary group meetings
WEBINAR DETAILS
This webinar will address the importance of achieving a true interdisciplinary way of providing care, including a focus on team meetings. It will explore methods that utilize team strengths, leading to a cooperative approach to problem-solving. It will also cover ways to avoid the multiple-plans-of-care trap (“the nurse’s plan”, “the social worker’s plan”, “the chaplain’s plan”), and create plans that facilitate the understanding that all team members are responsible for all the goals within their scopes of practice. The bottom line and highest priority (supported by research) is that better care and higher levels of patient/family satisfaction can be achieved through effective interdisciplinary team functioning.
THIS WEBINAR WILL BENEFIT THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES:
