Hospice 101: Prospective Volunteer Orientation

Florida Hospital HospiceCare is looking for volunteers to visit patients throughout Volusia and Flagler counties. Volunteers will be trained to provide respite, spiritual support, and companionship to the patients and families of HospiceCare.
Volunteers have always played an integral role in the Florida Hospital HospiceCare program and continue to function as part of the interdisciplinary team. Volunteers who choose to work directly with patients and families must complete a training course comprised of 24-classroom hours. Classes are conducted in three, eight-hour sessions. Volunteers who do not directly work with patients receive a level of orientation and training that is appropriate for their duties. Most volunteers spend four hours or less each week fulfilling their volunteer commitments to Florida Hospital HospiceCare.
**Those interested in volunteering are invited to attend a “Hospice 101” Prospective Volunteer Orientation on either February 3 at 10 a.m. at Florida Hospital Flagler, Classroom A/B, 60 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast or February 4 at 10 a.m. at Florida Hospital’s Reflections Building Conference Room, 770 W Granada Blvd., Suite 102, Ormond Beach.
