Gulfside Hospice Presents Ride for Hospice & Paulie Palooza

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (March 4, 2016) – Get ready to hit the trail with the Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse for the eighth annual Ride for Hospice and Paulie Palooza benefitting Gulfside Hospice. There’s still time to register for the horseback ride and all day music festival on March 19, 2016.

 

Come for one event or come for both! Gates open for the Ride for Hospice at 8:30 a.m. at 3986 Trump Drive in Zephyrhills. The horseback and wagon ride will leave at 10 a.m. from and wind through scenic private ranch land. All riders must bring their own horse. Limited seating is available on the wagon ride for those without a horse.

 

Just down the road, bands hit the stage at 11 a.m. for the Paulie Palooza music festival at Sky Dive City, 4241 Sky Dive Lane in Zephyrhills. The all-day event includes live music until 10 p.m., vendors, silent auction, drawings and great viewing for the skydiving competition happening that day. The band lineup for Paulie Palooza includes Held Fast, Roe & Allie Strong, Waters Edge Band Back Waters Own, Midnight Special, David Teague, Mark Hannah and Nick Stephens, Stoned Poet Society, Air Adams and Past Due.

 

The cost for the event includes:

  • Paulie Palooza admission – $5 wristband donation (food and drinks available for purchase)
  • Ride for Hospice online pre-registration by March 17 – $30 per participant (T-shirt, lunch and Paulie Palooza admission included)
  • Ride for Hospice day of event registration – $35 per participant (lunch and Paulie Palooza admission included)

 

Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers for the Ride for Hospice. Children under 16 must wear a helmet, safe riding attire and be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate in the ride. Current negative Coggins proof must be presented for each horse at the gate.

Since the Ride for Hospice began, more than $125,000 has been raised for Gulfside Hospice to support patient care and bereavement programs. The Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse has been serving the citizens of Pasco County since 1995.  All Posse members must pass and maintain several qualification standards to enable horse and rider to safely work in close contact with the public. The Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Unit (comprised of sworn deputies) and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse (comprised of civilian volunteers) are part of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
