Although you may be cognizant of the importance of documentation in supporting payment, don’t allow that to overshadow its two other important functions: creating a real-time record accessible by all IDG members and, although rarely considered, building confidence in care. When is documentation completed in your hospice? As part of the visit? If not, why not? This presentation opens with arguments for tying documentation to the visit and dissects the underlying challenges that got us where we are today. Finally, you’ll learn workable solutions – including strategies employed by individual IDG members – for successfully transitioning to documentation as part of the visit.
