Medicare scrutiny is a long and winding road. While billing the Medicare benefit and receiving payment is relatively easy, there is always review risk. Improve the process by understanding TPE and how to outline a response for a medical review at any level. Examining PEPPER reports and other data analysis will help ensure the agency’s risk from medical review is limited. Avoiding denials is crucial. Don’t get caught assuming everything is in order. Gain the knowledge necessary to ensure your hospice creates accurate documentation and is ready for a successful review.

Changing demographics mean there are more patients than ever, yet hospice and home care agencies are chasing after fewer referrals, because of increased competition. Providers feel significant pressure to identify and develop effective marketing strategies. This can produce the appearance of success in terms of increased referrals and revenues, but overall can lead to greater compliance risks. There are numerous compliance risks in marketing and relationships with referral sources. For example, common business marketing ideas – discounts, coupons, rewards to strong referral sources – are illegal under federal law. Marketing strategies must be carefully analyzed to avoid fines, penalties, False Claims Act actions, and criminal prosecutions. Agencies must also understand the applicable fraud and abuse rules that impact compliance efforts. Noncompliance can result in a marketing “success” becoming a source of significant civil penalties and even criminal prosecutions. This webinar will cover common pitfalls and areas of government scrutiny to ensure consistent, compliant marketing.

Some remember when newspaper ads, headhunters, rolodexes, and telephones were used to find the perfect employee. Times change, and so should your organization. Today’s candidates have never seen a rolodex or newspaper ad. It’s imperative to “go digital” and fully understand social media and its place in a hiring strategy. Your agency’s success depends on letting go of “doing things the way you’ve always done them” and embracing new opportunities.Adding in new interviewing techniques, managing styles, and benefits requirements are valuable changes, but watch out! Similar to HR and the healthcare industry, social media is full of compliance landmines and legalities. This seminar explores the myriad of pitfalls in today’s recruiting environment and provides a guide of digital tools and how to use them to your advantage. Onboarding and coaching techniques, “new” benefits desired by applicants, and a compliance framework will also be covered.

The evolving opportunities and options available now in the field of remote patient monitoring (RPM) are abundant. In health care settings, successful RPM programs require thoughtful use of people, processes, and technologies. RPM programs extend the reach of the clinician and save time, money, and lives by improving the quality of life for patients and caregivers. Expected benefits of RPM are clinically driven appointments rather than calendar-driven, lower readmission rates, fewer emergency room visits, improved medication adherence and pain monitoring. Video visits can augment in-person visits and provide clinical and social support to families as well as patients. Depression, anxiety, and social determinants of health can be monitored on patient-centric timeframes. This program will include the necessary aspects of establishing or improving your RPM program, a review of the available technologies, and how to select the most appropriate ones.
Join us for the March program as Maria Gonzalez MD explains how Community Palliative Care may benefit you.Palliative care has become a valuable approach for patients with chronic and advanced illnesses to deliver early interventions in the continuum of care. This can significantly reduce the burden of illness, and improve quality of life and prognosis.

In this rapidly changing hospice landscape, new and intimidating situations arise every day. Many patients and families sign on already in crisis. This webinar is designed to provide feedback and guidance on volunteers’ daily challenges. Participants are encouraged to submit questions prior to the webinar. This program will be tailored to answer those questions, creating an experience that is unique to your volunteers’ needs. In challenging situations, it is often best to bring in a moderator who will provide the tools and guidance to achieve success. Learn how to raise volunteers’ comfort level, which will ultimately elevate patient care by addressing the most unsettling situations.
