Providing spiritual care always comes with challenges – even more so since the number of people who identify as either atheist or agnostic is growing.
How do you provide this important aspect of care without the benefit of a known belief system? How do you meet people where they are? Reverend Jim Andrews will address these and other questions during this timeless session that will benefit all team members – especially chaplains.
AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
- Draw on spiritual assessment categories to frame distress and well-being in nonreligious terms
- Create meaningful rituals that align with core beliefs and deep feelings
- Overcome preconceptions about the role of the chaplain
- Clearly define your role in supporting agnostics and atheists
- Develop patient-centered goals and interventions
WEBINAR DETAILS
There is a growing segment of the population which has either never been a part of a faith community or has left their faith community due to spiritual crisis or changing belief systems. Chaplains and other team members need to be able to meet these patients and families where they are and find ways to address their existential concerns and their need to bring meaningful, peaceful closure to their lives. The problem is that so many of the “tools in our toolbox” come from supporting some kind of belief in a Divine Being. This webinar will explore the skills needed to provide spiritual care to those who experience and express their needs outside of the context of religious faith and belief.
THIS WEBINAR WILL BENEFIT THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES:
