Do you want your agency to serve more people, grow, and be able to give the gift of hospice?
Then learn to increase your patients’ length-of-stay. Often hospices complain about short duration of care without realizing their own processes include barriers that can lead to admission delay. Join this webinar to get the details on two major ways to increase the care timeline.
AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
- Distinguish between internal and external opportunities for length-of-stay growth
- Explain why the word “wait” is the biggest internal barrier to maximizing time in care
- Identify the top three referral sources that generate long length-of-stay
- Use your referral inquiry-to-admission process (a.k.a. intake) to increase duration of patient stay in hospice
- Explain the meaning and impact of the “invisible velvet glove”
WEBINAR DETAILS
Boosting admissions is an obvious way to grow your census, but increasing length-of-stay can be equally beneficial. There are two major methods to increase length-of-stay. First, remove internal barriers that cause admission delays. The second way is to cultivate referral sources that generate longer stays. Most hospices work the “middle” for referrals – hospitals, physicians, and skilled nursing facilities – which lead to short stays. There are a number of other referral segments that lead to greater length-of-stays. Personal care companies, faith-based groups, and senior living communities all provide hospices with the ability to work with patients and families. Learn more with this informative program.
