Description:

Under the direction and supervision of the Quality Management Manager this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation organization standards relating to infection control, which includes the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the organization wide infection control program.  This position is also responsible for ensuring adherence to state and/or the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements, as applicable, for the health and safety of employees and clients.  Graduate from a recognized professional school of nursing; BSN preferred.  Five (5) years of hospital/healthcare experience.  Experience with data collection and analysis, and regulatory and accreditation standards related to Infection Control.  CIC (Certified Infection Control) preferred and required within the next six (6) month’s.

Regulatory and Accreditation Coordinator

Description:

Provides guidance and oversight of activities aimed at achieving a continuous state of survey readiness surrounding licensure, accreditation, certification, and overall compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

 

Primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities:

  1. Promotes and practices the Hospice mission and core values, and follows all policies and procedures of Tidewell.
  2. Serves as an expert resource for regulatory requirements for hospice.
  3. Plans, designs, integrates, implements, modifies and evaluates an effective survey readiness program
  4. Assesses ability for the organization to meet or exceed licensure and accreditation standards on an ongoing basis
  5. Facilitates the coordination of regulatory compliance activities
  6. Implements individual and system wide tracers to ensure standard compliance is integrated into daily work processes, policies match practice, and quality patient care and services are evident.
  7. Designs processes and tools in order to perform and direct abstraction of pertinent information from patient records for assessment of regulatory compliance.
  8. Tracks and trends compliance with high risk, high volume, problem prone areas that have been identified through past experiences and current observations which can negatively affect the survey readiness program.
  9. Evaluates the success of the program through the execution and evaluation of mock surveys, and develops plans of action for identified weaknesses.
  10. Communicates and educates effectively to all levels of staff regarding findings and responsibilities in survey readiness.
  11. Keeps abreast and knowledgeable of survey trends, regulations, and accrediting requirements throughout the hospice industry and affiliated partners in care.
  12. Assists the Administrative Director of Quality and survey team during all aspects of an active survey including surveyor management, follow up after a survey, corrective action planning, and evaluation of the plan of correction.
  13. Keeps The Administrative Director of QAPI apprised of the effectiveness of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the survey readiness program.
  14. Maintains and assures confidentiality and validity of all data and databases used for the program
  15. Performs other duties within the scope of practice as assigned by the Administrative Director of Quality Assessment Performance Improvement.

 

Educational/Professional:

  1. Full, current, active and unrestricted Florida RN License
  2. Bachelor’s degree in management or healthcare related field required
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of Hospice or other Healthcare regulations preferred
  4. Prior regulatory and accreditation experience preferred
  5. 3-5 years in Healthcare Quality, Peer Review, or Risk Management required
