Role:

Provides clinical and programmatic oversight for the Social Services, Bereavement, and Volunteer programs, inclusive of the Program for Grieving Children and the Transitions Program. Responsible for ensuring the professional practice and development of all disciplines in areas of oversight. Ensures education, staff development, competencies, performance improvement and outcome measures and regulatory compliance in areas of oversight.

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (CSWE accredited).
  • Florida LCSW required.
  • Three years of management experience in a health care setting required.
  • Experience in children, family, and group modalities
  • Experience and theoretical basis in family systems.
  • Previous volunteer experience preferred.
  • Able to remain calm and professional and trouble shoot/handle children/family or staff crisis situations.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations.
  • Ability to work unsupervised exercising a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and use critical thinking skills to bring about timely outcomes.

Role:

The Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) embraces the value of play as a healing modality which enhances the optimal growth and development of infants, children and youth to pediatric hospice patients and children in the Partners in Care (PIC) Program. Care is provided through assessment, intervention, prevention, advocacy and education. The CCLS is a member of the pediatric health care team who focuses on the individual emotional and developmental needs of each child and family using therapeutic and developmental play experiences. The CCLS also considers the needs of the siblings or other children who may be affected by the child’s illness. The CCLS acts as an advocate for children and their families and uses his/her knowledge of child development to enhance quality of life and the emotional aspects of coming to terms with life limiting illnesses. Must comply with Partners In Care: Together for Kids (PIC:TFK) standards of care, state, federal and local government regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, Human and Family Studies, Psychology or another closely related discipline.
  • Must have completed a supervised 480-hour clinical internship, pass a national examination, and have and maintain certification.
  • Minimum of one year experience in healthcare/hospital setting required.
  • Working knowledge of the concepts and practices of end of life care with children and families.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively handle the emotional stress of the workload.
  • Able to remain calm, professional, trouble shoot and intervene with patient/family crisis situations.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per company policy.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations. Ability to work unsupervised, exercising a high degree of discretion & independent judgment.
  • Ability to physically access any home, hospital, i.e. navigate stairs, narrow stairs, narrow spaces, lack of air conditioning, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and intervene appropriately.

Job Qualifications include:

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school.
