Choice, dignity, respect, and person-centered care are the foundations of hospice and palliative care.  Even so, it can be difficult to provide care for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.  Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have a variety of causes and levels of severity.  Therefore, people with IDD often need specialized care designed to meet their individual needs during the final phase of life.

This webinar will delve into the challenges of providing hospice and palliative care to individuals with IDD.  It will also provide strategies for building relationships within the hospice team and residential staff to provide better care and services.
