Teamwork is defined as “the process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal.” Though this sounds simple, staffing shortages, turnover, absenteeism, conflict, and burnout can lead a team astray. The pandemic impacted the way we work together. Teamwork is an essential part of a productive and satisfying workplace. When people know how to collaborate, they produce better quality work, meet organizational goals, and create a positive company culture. Join this educational webinar to attain the highest probability for success when assigning a team or individual.
This webinar will focus on hospice nurse and aide regulations, the CoPs, and critical role requirements. How to support eligibility through effective assessments, interdisciplinary team involvement, development of the plan of care, and documentation best practices will be detailed. Ongoing compliance challenges with an emphasis on best practices for both nursing and aide services will be reviewed. Participants will learn about aide oversight requirements and how to maintain compliance. The webinar will also cover the four levels of care, required documentation, and how to avoid high-risk admissions and triggering audits. This session will cover a lot of critical material and serve as a great resource for new hospice nurses, or as a refresher for agency hospice RN best practices.
Many hospices are facing Medicare claims audits such as TPE, ADR, SMRC, etc. and receiving clinical denials. This session will review what these clinical denials look like and explore how to reduce the risk of claim denials through effective oversight of your patient population. It will clarify how the MACs are applying the hospice eligibility guidelines and define best processes to manage patients whose terminal illness stops following the anticipated trajectory.
In an industry where many organizations offer similar benefits and features, it can be difficult to differentiate yours from others in the area. Taking the time to create a competitive marketing strategy will help you identify how your organization should position itself in the community, who to focus on, and how to communicate the advantages of working with you.
Volunteers are critical to the interdisciplinary care that hospice provides to patients and families. They are not a “nice to have” service but a part of the team that exemplifies the true spirit of hospice care. COVID-19 taught us valuable lessons about better ways to utilize volunteers and how to show appreciation for their work. This webinar will cover frequently asked questions from volunteer managers, and it will explore new and improved ways to utilize volunteers, including virtual volunteers. Come prepared with the questions you have always wanted to ask.
Compliance is essential when it comes to a well-run agency. This jam-packed series will take a deep dive into the Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs). Understanding and meeting CoPs can be daunting. Industry expert Diane Link will tackle this overwhelming task by breaking down the lengthy and somewhat vague CoPs into manageable sections that build off each other. The first webinar will review compliance basics and organizational requirements. The second will cover clinical requirements and preparing your agency for survey. Lastly, the third webinar will address QAPI and the survey process.
Work/life balance is a common phrase but what does it really mean and how is it achieved? There are many benefits to a healthy work/Iife balance – there are also big consequences to living a life without it. Those that draw a boundary and achieve balance live satisfying lives with more joy and focus. Since the pandemic, strained work/life boundaries have caused pressure, leaving some employees burned out with no zest and passion for their jobs. The webinar will include insight on how to bring balance into your life and how to help yourself and your team achieve a healthier relationship with work.
Great salespeople know their job is to serve others. This motivates them to sell more than their counterparts who may feel insecure about their organization, position, or objectives. Research has shown that customers most appreciate a salesperson who teaches them something new that helps them with something in their lives. What customers remember most about a salesperson is their level of confidence. Join us to learn how to gain the confidence to sell and achieve greater success through the service you provide.
Exceptional marketers understand the intended audience and exact reach through messaging, whether via social media, advertisements, sponsorships, or presentations. They craft messages that successfully resonate, motivate, and activate through clear communication. Unfortunately, many marketing teams use broad concepts intended to reach all audiences instead of specific, focused efforts. Join this enlightening webinar to learn the paradox of narrowing down your target audience to consistently grow your business.
Hospices and home care companies are allowed to communicate with and about patients via email and text, provided HIPAA’s privacy and security rules are followed. Noncompliance can result in regulatory fines, compromised electronic protected health information (ePHI), lawsuits, and lost revenues. Are you confident your organization is lawfully using email and text messages to communicate with patients and peers in the office and from home? Do you manage confidential and sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA’s content rules and state record-retention laws? Have you implemented policies, procedures, and training to ensure proper handling of email and text messages by employees and business associates? This session will provide a comprehensive look at email and texting risks, rules, and best practices.
The CoPs require bereavement counseling as a core hospice service. This webinar will cover key regulations, who qualifies to provide bereavement and counseling services, risk assessments, and how to set up a bereavement plan of care. Best practices will be presented, reviewed, and discussed regarding implementing, measuring, and evaluating an effective bereavement program.
This timely session will assist agencies with survey preparation through compliance, continued survey readiness, and performing mock surveys. The webinar will review the regulations and ramifications of deficient areas – CoPs, state, and accreditation standards. Participants will go step-by-step through a mock survey, including what to look for in home visits. Learn various action plans to correct deficiencies before a surveyor visits and how a QAPI program can help achieve and sustain compliance. Begin the road to continued survey readiness through performing mock surveys and increase agency quality and care.
This webinar will expound on the details of the Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model focusing on the Hospice Benefit Component. Until recently, Medicare Advantage has traditionally covered home health patients, but never hospice. The VBID demonstration began January 1, 2021. There are 19 Medicare Advantage Organizations participating in 2023 and even more expected in 2024. In addition to hospice care, there is an expansion of palliative care services that will be offered to patients through the MAOs. This webinar will review the coverage differences for in-network versus out-of-network providers. It will also review the CMS requirements for MAOs to provide beneficiaries with broad access to the complete original Medicare hospice benefit.
