New QAPI Reporting Requirements Effective July 2014

As part of the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP), hospice providers will be required to submit a Hospice Item Set (HIS) for admission and discharge for each patient admission to their hospice on or after July 1, 2014. This webinar is intended for hospice programs that are struggling to understand how to effectively implement the Hospice Item Set by July 1, 2014.

Speaker: Carrie Cooley, RN, MSN
Carrie Cooley is the Director of Consulting Services with Weatherbee Resources, Inc. Her operational, clinical, and regulatory expertise allows her to deliver uncompromising consulting services and Associate Consultant oversight.
In addition to her Director of Consulting Services role, Carrie conducts comprehensive baseline compliance audits and mock surveys to assess regulatory compliance and identify potential risk exposures, and devises action plans to address problem areas. She also assists hospices with State and Federal compliance by drafting and implementing post-survey plans of correction and providing customized staff education.
Carrie also conducts clinical record audits for hospice organizations facing Additional Development Requests (ADRs), Probe Edits, and Targeted Medical Review. As part of this process, Carrie drafts independent expert cover letters to support technical and clinical eligibility for hospice care, and provides assistance and guidance throughout the appeals process. Carrie is a registered nurse and holds a Master’s degree from Samford University with a specialty in nursing leadership and healthcare finance.
