Health care reform contained a number of care delivery models designed to improve outcomes and lower costs through collaboration.  CMS has built upon this with pay for performance and value-based purchasing.  This is leading to referral sources focused on outcomes and similar data.  In a healthcare world driven by outcomes and value, marketing as you always have won’t work.  Providers need to ensure referral sources will help achieve the desired outcomes.
