HPH Hospice (HPH) will host a community grand opening for its new Hospice Care Center of Citrus County before the facility is open to patients from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. The facility is located at 2939 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy. in Lecanto on 16-acres of property.

The 20,300 square foot building houses the Hospice Care Center on the first floor and the administrative or team office upstairs. The former has eight patient suites plus a large, contemporary kitchen; dining area; snack bar; nurses’ station; conference room; sitting areas; family room and children’s play area; quiet room; and a large, screened lanai. Several memorial walkways circle the building and there’s one specifically for veterans. A fountain, gazebos and benches are carefully placed to provide serenity while the landscaping lends a lush, Florida feeling. There is plenty of room for expansion, according to Jaysen Roa, HPH’s Executive Director in Citrus.

Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the building, enjoy light refreshments and a formal ribbon cutting, plus observe the dedication of the Veteran’s walkway in which Citrus County Commissioner JJ Kenney and numerous local veterans’ groups will participate. Commissioner Kenney will also sing the national anthem. A dove and butterfly release will be incorporated into the grand opening, too.

There’s no need to register, but please call HPH at (352) 527-4600 with questions.

HPH has been serving Citrus County residents since 2005 and Pasco and Hernando residents since 1984.
