“Caring for a Better Tomorrow”

Florida Hospices and Palliative Care’s 22nd Annual Symposium titled “Caring for a Better Tomorrow” is scheduled for November 29th - December 1st 2006 at the Florida Mall Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The Symposium Committee is working to make this year’s event the best yet. They recently met in Orlando at Hospice of the Comforter. “This is always such a great group to work with,” according to long term member and chair Mary Richt. The committee meets monthly by phone or in-person to plan the signature event. Some members cannot make the in-person meetings, but make the conference calls. There are some who are leaders around the table, while others lead on site at the event.

“Over the years, as programs have grown, our committee has lost the involvement of some programs in Florida,” stated Ms. Richt, who is also a senior manager from HospiceCare of Southeast Florida.

The committee is seeking new members with new ideas from programs that have lost touch with leadership in this event. “In years past, there were thirty people around the table from all around the state.”
